Every experience we've had in our lives has become a building block in our inner world, governing our reactions to everything and every person we encounter. Whether we've experienced a small setback or major traumas, we are all influenced by the memories and experiences we may or may not even remember or fully understand.
I specialize in helping clients identify the circumstances that cause these seemingly uncontrollable feelings and how they can be directly tied to our experience as children. I use a variety of psychodynamic techniques including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) with a focus on our mind-body connection. My goal is to assist clients in taking control of their lives by restoring their self-esteem, maintaining boundaries, sharpening self-awareness, exercising self-care, and practicing moderation.
My areas of specialty include addictions, especially emotional/compulsive eating, trauma, and emotional immaturity (codependence).
I am also a level 2 Gottman trained couples therapist.
