Dressing Blessings!

I snickered when I heard the man on the radio ask,

"Why did the cranberries turn red?

They saw the Turkey Dressing!"

For you who are fortunate enough to enjoy a family gathering free of drama, who can eat a meal prepared by loving hands, who can laugh and embrace those around you, I say, "Count your Blessings!"

Remember, it's not about the meal; whether you eat Turkey, Beef, Fish, or Chicken. It doesn't matter if you have white table cloths, paper plates, or eat from a bag. It's not about whose team is playing, the size of the floats, or the Black Friday Sales. It's about relationship.

If you find yourself without a loving family today, seek to love someone. There was a 1970's song that said, "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with." If miles keep you from being with family (even emotional miles), you can hold the hand of someone else who is needing love. Many, many years ago I heard someone say, "Family is not about DNA, its about love." You can have family with people who you met at church, at school, or work, they can be neighbors, friends, and even strangers. Like the Beatle's say, "All you need is love." Or as the Bible says it:

"Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love."

1 Corinthians 13:13

I pray your Thanksgiving is filled with many blessings: Family, friendships, love, laughter, and always: Encouragement from the Encouragers Team.
