Traffic Jam

In this song by Skillet - "Would It Matter" the lyrics ask, "If I wasn't here tomorrow, would anybody care?"

These words express what so many of our youth are feeling today. They truly are unseen, unwanted, and unloved. Many of the homeless individuals on the streets are children who were forced out (abandoned), removed (abused), or left (ran-away) to find a "better" life. These children are being forced into prostitution, labor camps (sweat shops), and are bought and sold to the highest bidder. It used to be we only heard of this atrocity occurring in other countries. But now, it's in our neighborhoods and our backyards.

I recently met with a man who lived homeless on the streets for 15 years due to a drug addiction. His story used to be so uncommon, but now is so normal it's an option that is romanticized by our youth. Human Trafficking has now become a household word as perceptions and solutions are in conflict with political agendas. California has become a gateway for human trafficking and political motivations to make California a Sanctuary State continues to invite lawlessness.

"Young men who are wise obey the law;

a son who is a member of a lawless gang is a shame to his father."

Proverbs 28:7 (TLB)
