A Tank-Full Heart

"You prepare a feast for me

in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings."

Psalm 23:5 (NLT)

When I went into the field of psychology, I never knew the impact it would have on my heart as I help others. I assumed being "the boss" of a company would mean only the negative consequence that others express as, "It's lonely at the top." Instead, this past week I was blessed beyond measure and my cup runs over with those blessings. I thought it might be encouraging to others to hear from the heart of an encourager who is working in the trenches to help the hurting find healing and acceptance.

These are just a few of the kind and tenderhearted statements and expressed Blessings:

"I was thanking God for you and all you've done for me."

"I'm so thankful for your wisdom."

"I couldn't have done it without you."

"I've gone to other therapists and doctors who only wanted to give me drugs

and didn't understand me."

"No one else would have done this for me. I'm so grateful."

I'm not sharing this because I want to pat myself on the back. Actually, it's the only way I can give a raised hand and a shout of hallelujah, AMEN! We've heard the saying, "When the Student is ready, the teacher will appear," but I like the second half of that saying,

“When the student is ready the teacher will appear.

When the student is truly ready... The teacher will Disappear.”

Lao Tzu

One of the best days of my career as a therapist is the day I get "fired." My clients tell me they feel better, are making better choices, and don't need me or my services anymore. On one hand it's sad because I am honored to meet many amazing people. On the other hand, I've been blessed with the opportunity to be a vessel for God to bring hope and healing to those in need.

Today-- My heart is blessed, and I have a tank full of love because of the encouragement of those who are being encouraged. Thank you! And God bless and keep you in the palm of his hand.
