Pondering Possibilities

I love to ponder life's possibilities and my Attention Deficit mind enjoys running wild. When I was a cop, I looked for evidence to prove or disprove a crime had occurred. Today, as a therapist, my job is to look at all possibilities, and the cause and effect of any problem in order to help people create solutions that will result in positive change.

I was looking at an advertisement on Facebook that suggested that Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) contributed to repairing the negative effects of aging on the brain. Being naturally courous, I looked it up what BDRF is (don't you love Google?). This is what caught my eye as I looked for solutions to brain fog, Dementia, and Alzheimers. Wikipedia said,

"In a cross-sectional study, Nurk et al. [34] examined the relation between the intake of three common foodstuffs that contain flavonoids (chocolate, wine, and tea) and cognitive performance. More than 2,000 participants (aged 70–74 years; 55 % women) recruited from the population-based Hordaland Health Study in Norway underwent cognitive testing. Participants who consumed chocolate, wine, or tea had significantly better mean test scores and a lower prevalence of poor cognitive performance than those who did not."

Jesus' first miracle was to turn water into wine at a wedding (John 2:1-11).

"What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him."

John 2:11

So, my take away today as I ponder this new information is I need to eat more chocolate, drink red wine, and replace my morning coffee with tea.
