Marine Corps Birthday 244 years old

November 10, 1776 birth of the Marine Corps.

Yesterday I was reminded that it is the 244th Birthday of the Marine Corps. It is an honor to provide mental health services our Marine Corps veterans and active duty personnel. There is a saying that once a Marine - always a Marine. A deep sense of pride is developed in the men and women who wear the Marine Corps uniform. As individuals they are labeled as "a cut above", the "elite," and "specialists."

This video (https://www.marines.com/who-we-are/our-values.html) explains the values that are more than just words: Honor, Courage, Commitment. These words are beliefs instilled in the hearts and minds of men and women who are committed to the depth of their being.

Today is Memorial Day. November 11, 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice, or cease fire, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in World War I. In 1938 the name of the battle was changed from The Great War to The Korean War and the Federal Holiday was changed from Armistice Day to Veteran's Day.

We at Encouragers honor you not only on this day, but every day. We pray for your recovery from challenges faced in your past, and we support you in the fight for today as you prepare for tomorrow's challenges. God Bless our veterans, our active duty, and those serving here and abroad.
