One Story

Every story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. This fact is true when it comes to your life story. We are born, live, and die. How you enter the world sets the stage for how you will live your life and will determine the quality or consequences that will lead to a peaceful death or one riddled with regret.

Have you ever looked at your life through this perspective? That you only have one life to live and there is no do-overs, no turning back, and seldom do you get to undo the mistakes of the past, but you absolutely can change your future. Is it easy? No. Is it complicated? No. Is it something I can do on my own? No. I often tell people the same mind that got you into trouble is not going to help you get of trouble. You need new insights, perspectives, and someone to challenge and hold you accountable. People who think the "lone wolf" approach to change are the same people who say that change is not possible.

Change takes effort, real effort, and the more change that needs to happen, the harder it is to change. This is why so many people complain about the negative consequences of their life but do nothing to stop the patterns that keep them stuck. Doing the same thing expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity. So, if you feel like you're going insane, the first place to look for the reason why you feel this way is in the mirror. Ask yourself, What am I willing to do to change these circumstances? If the answer is "Anything and everything" you have a chance to change. If you don't even want to ask the question of yourself, the answer to your ability to effect change is quite obvious.

"We have only one story. All novels, all poetry,

are built on the never-ending contest in ourselves of good and evil,"
