Selena Nguyen, MFT Intern is a warrior in every sense of the word. Selena is a student at Liberty University finishing her masters degree in Professional Clinical Counseling. She entered into ECTC's practicum training January 4, 2023, to earn her clinical training hours for graduation.
A few weeks back Selena informed me she had to take off time from ECTC for her mandatory weekend Army Reserve training . When she returned, she showed me photos of her and her team jumping out of military airplanes and helicopters parachuting to the Earth. Selena is a member of a prestigious group of female paratroopers. Amazing, right?
Selena then sent me this photo. WOW! I'm highly impressed and humbled at the degree of service she is willing to commit to. She is such a wonderful individual with such a compassionate heart and sensitivity toward others, I never even thought of what a Bad A__ she could be and is.
Kristi Miedike AMFT is another hard serving therapist who works at Encouragers Counseling & Training Centers and has spent the past 2 years with us, first as an Intern in practicum, then after graduation, as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working toward her licensure.
Kristi is an amazing therapist and another individual who has a huge heart, big smile, and professional attitude. She has a compassionate heart filled with understanding for those she serves, but Kristi also is a warrior!
Kristi competed in the Jiu Jitsu World League competition held at Del Mar Fairgrounds, San Diego March 25, 2023. Kristi came into my office on Friday and informed me of her competition this past weekend and shared the butterflies in her stomach. This was a competition that was going to be rougher than her other competitions and she wanted to do well. I have all the confidence in my staff as therapists, but even more than that, they are amazing individuals who are destined to serve. When she sent me this photo after winning the competition, I couldn't have been prouder.
Selina and Kristi are leaders, defenders of the truth, and are beyond belief when it comes to their strength, conviction, and commitment to excellence. They are very special to me.
