Do You Remember?

Today marks twenty-four years that have gone by since Islamic terrorist tried to take America to her knees. Those who remember September 11, 2001 know exactly where they were when they heard of the attack on American soil. Do you recall? Do you get emotional recalling the hours and days spent watching repeatedly the 2 planes fly into Twin Towers and smoke billowing out of the Pentagon ablaze from a third plane? Do you remember when news of a fourth hijacked plane was diverted from its intended target by the brave passengers who gave their lives to save others? There are many who recall the details of that day and today they will morn as if it were yesterday. But there are many more who do not have a memory of that day. They have heard briefly about it but the events of that horrific day have been pressed into the recesses of their minds or forgotten all together.

Let us not let the events of that day result in history books being rewritten, marginalized, or changed like so many other memorable events in time. I pray that when my generation passes away, the next will remember the events and honor those who passed and also those who served in the recovery and rebuilding of the lives left behind.
