See It

I love this video. Watch it first, then read my comments about it.

I want you to notice, she did not put any money into his cup, but she gave him more than all who tossed coins into it. She saw what others did not see and shared her vision with a blind man.

How often do we see something wrong and do nothing about it? Many people are walking through life without the ability to see what is right in front of them. They are blinded by grief and loss, fear and anxiety, pain and suffering, and they see darkness instead of the beauty of the day. Are you tossing coins at people and feeling like you've given enough? Have you been blessed with health, wealth, and happiness and withholding those gifts from others who might benefit from your generosity?

Psalm 23 says how we are to pray, but more than that, it speaks of how we are to respond to the blessings given us by God,

The LORD is my shepherd;

I shall not want.

2He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.

3He restores my soul;

He guides me in the paths of righteousness

for the sake of His name.

4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil,

for You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.

6Surely goodness and mercy will follow me

all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD

forever.

Most people read this prayer and think how cool it is that God does so many amazing things for us, and this is true. But don't miss the part (underlined and Italicized) that says the blessings are to run over and spill out onto others. Are the blessings you've received this year being spilled over to help others? If you only care about what is being poured into and retained in your cup, you will soon find your cup is not pouring over because God has stopped pouring into it. There can only be a pouring "out" if there is a constant flow "in." If you don't pour out there's no new room for God to pour in and you might find yourself running dry.

Ensure you are opening up opportunities for God to pour in by giving generously to Encouragers Counseling & Training Centers this year. For every $200 donation we are able to provide 10 hours of free counseling to a homeless veteran. a victim of sex trafficking, a single mother living in a domestic violence shelter, or a foster youth trying to make it on their own.

Thank you for your generous outpouring and God bless you richly as you bless others.
