We Choose

Recently we celebrated Veteran's Day, a day for remembering those who served our nation in times of battle. It's also a time to ponder the future safety of America while we stand at the door of WWIII.

Israel and Hamas are at war. Russia and Ukraine are at war. China threatens war with Taiwan. In America we are giving away our country without any resistance. Families are fighting over philosophical differences. Couples are fighting, children are dying, and everyone is wondering why the world has gone crazy.

When selfish people lead this is what happens. Leadership matters. The person at the helm of the ship determins the direction and speed the ship will go. When they are hell bent on destroying the ship they go faster and faster toward destruction. Everything, good or bad, hinges on leadership. In the old days, if the captain of the ship was unhinged, the crew would mutiny and toss him in the brig, or worse, overboard. The world needs leaders who want peace not leaders who are okay with war, who support war, who fund wars, or who approve of mass genaside for profit. America was once the "shining beacon on the hill" and it can be again. The future will be determined by the leaders we choose, and how we choose to follow.

“It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it.

And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.”

Eleanor Roosevelt, former First Lady of the United States
