Overwhelming Love

One of my favorite authors and speakers was Corrie Ten Boom. During World War II, Corrie and her family helped many Jews escape the Nazis Holocaust by hiding them in her home. Her writings touch the deep recesses of the human spirt.

Corrie said about that experience of helping others,

"The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation."

People are being effected by COVID-19 and others are rising up to help. One person told me Padres shortstop Jacob Cronenworth donated $1,000 to her family where everyone in the family has tested positive with Covid-19. Strangers have been showing support financially and through love gifts from they community. Others are sending meal gift cards and calling drive-throughs to deliver meals to the family.

At Encouragrers Counseling and Training Centers, we are working hard to provide emotional support to all our clients. It feels wonderful to know what we are doing has made a positive impact on their lives. A reader of my blogs recently commented that she was encouraged by the blog NEW NORM (https://www.encouragersusa.org/single-post/2020/04/25/New-Norm). She said, "People don’t change, only circumstances. As a side note, I do find myself enjoying the slower pace, the sunrises and the sunsets, the ability to connect with talents honed at an earlier age such as painting and sewing, caring more about everything around me. All is not bad. Rather than the individual brooding over boredom, enjoy the fruits of this earth and the beauty. Thank you Vicki Coffman. As always you reach out to inspire the living."

No...Thank you. Thank you to everyone who looks beyond their circumstances to the needs of others. Kindness does not cost you anything, but it provides life giving hope to someone in need. God bless each and everyone of you.

30 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:30-31 (NIV)
