Double-Doubling Down

Business owners, large and small, are standing up for their employees and their customers. The owners of In-N-Out burger has chosen to take a stand for a person's right to choose.

When was fast food ever considered health food? But, if you step back and truly look at what is going on here, it doesn't really have anything to do with food. It has everything to do with personal conviction, compromise, and courage.

I have been working with individuals who are feeling vulnerable. They fear the threat of losing their livelihood and their lives. They stand, wavering in their convictions because others have already compromised their own convictions to seek security. Unfortunately, they don't feel more secure, but feel less, and they begin to question everything. The compass is broken, and they've lost their way. Once they step off the road of their personal convictions, they rapidly learn all roads lead to uncertainty. Fear grows, faith becomes fractured, and they lose courage. When people must make a choice against their will, they can lose heart and hope.

Then out of the darkness someone stands up and supports them. One person willing to come alongside the weary offering words of encouragement; this can change everything. One person who has not given up hope who is willing enter the fight to protect the innocent. One person who has a strong conviction, uncompromising, and full of courage is all it takes to strengthen the heart of another. We all need someone to lean on, and if you have the courage to stand for another, to let them lean on you for strength and offer hope, you just might save a life.

"He gives strength to the weary

and increases the power of the weak."

Isaiah 40:29
